About Irving Stettner

Irving Stettner was a Brooklyn-born poet and visual artist who founded and edited Stroker, an independent little magazine publishing writers including Henry Miller, Lawrence Durrell and Paul Bowles.[1]

Miller contributed to Stroker during his last years and addressed Stettner as his ‘Capricorn friend.’ Their 1978–80 correspondence was later gathered in From Your Capricorn Friend.[2]
