Painting
Bed
A quilt, a sheet and a pillow, mounted on wooden supports and hung upright on a wall like a picture, with paint and pencil worked across the top two-thirds. Robert Rauschenberg made it in 1955, when he could not afford canvas. The Museum of Modern Art in New York has held it since 1989.
