The book

Who they are in the book
Spoiler-freeMrs. Alfat is the head nurse connected to the missing medical records and one of the few people who might explain what happened to Yehya’s X-ray. Yehya and Nagy search for her after Tarek directs them toward her. She disappears before they can obtain meaningful help. Her unresolved absence increases the sense that anyone who knows too much can simply be removed from the visible system.

Aldous Huxley
English novelist of Brave New World, which he wrote not in Paris but on the Mediterranean coast at Sanary-sur-Mer. Lawrence towards the city's presses, to seven years on the Riviera; he then left for California, wrote the best-known modern account of taking mescaline, the hallucinogenic drug made from the peyote cactus, and died on the day President Kennedy was shot.
