Who they are in the book
Spoiler-freeOdo is the revolutionary thinker whose anarchist philosophy inspired the settlement of Anarres. She lived and died on Urras long before the main story and developed important parts of her thought while imprisoned. Anarresti people use her ideas to challenge ownership and government, but they can also turn her words into unquestionable doctrine. Le Guin later wrote about her final day in “The Day Before the Revolution.”
